Genetic Programming (GP), a unique method of Evolutionary Computation, has been actively studied for over a decade. There has been an increase in understanding of GP and a surge of novel applications in the last ten years. The First Asia-Pacific Workshop on Genetic Programming (ASPGP03), in association with Congress on Evolutionary Computation 2003, aims to bring together colleagues working in the field of genetic programming, and closely related approaches. A principal aim of the Workshop is to establish a continuing forum for collaboration between researchers in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
ASPGP03 invites authors to submit their original and unpublished work that demonstrates current research in Genetic Programming theory and applications. ASPGP03 will focus on, but not limited to, the following themes:
v
search spaces:
§
programming
languages
§
tree-based
structures
§
grammar-based
structures
§
systems
of equations
§
and
similar search spaces of unbounded dimensionality
v
search methods:
§
genetic
and evolutionary methods
§
swarm-based
search
§
distributional
search
§
particle-swarm
search
§
and
similar stochastic search methods
v
applications
The workshop will run for 4 hours, including 3.5 hours paper presentations and
0.5
hour plenary session.
